Job description
Responsibilities
- Assist in shaping and debugging new NLP and ML algorithms
- Support in setting up foundational procedures for statistical data analytics and processing
- Help extract insights from messy, usually un-labeled, data across multiple languages
- Collaborate with a team of scientists and software engineers to develop and implement data science projects
- Communicate findings and progress regularly to the team
Requirements
- Graduate degree (PhD preferred) in Statistics, Computer Science, or a related STEM field
- Good statistical analysis and problem-solving skills
- Previous internships in AI or machine learning
- Experience providing insights from large, multidimensional datasets
- Working knowledge of Data Science technology stacks including R, Python, Spark
- Familiarity with software development standard practices, including version control, unit testing, and code review
- Strong ability to communicate and visualize findings
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in large scale cloud-based data processing, such as AWS
- Proficiency in coding with Python or related languages
- Interest in financial modeling of companies
- Up to date understanding of the state of the art in NLP and ML methods
